Recap: Shrimp Feast 2007

On May 18, 2007, we all had a great time at the annual Alumni Shrimp Feast. This year we decided to have the Shrimp Feast be a tailgate party (with hand-made Shrimp Po' Boys...with a little help from Popeye's Popcorn Shrimp...yum!!!) in the parking lot of RFK Stadium followed by the Battle of the Beltway with the Washington Nationals hosting the Baltimore Orioles. (The O's won 5 to 4)

We had about 20 people join us at the event with alumni from the area being plus Tony Martins and Ken Han, two Gamma Beta alums who drove down from New York and Boston, respectively. Both GWU and VCU students were also in attendance.

We followed the game by meeting up for some tasty beverages at a nearby waterhole on Capitol Hill. A good time was had by all!

For those of you who don't know, the Alumni Club Shrimp Feast goes back to the 1950's when every spring, the Gamma Beta Alumni hosted a Shrimp Boil for the local students. Since it's formation in the early 1990's, the National Capital Section Alumni Club has taken up the mantle of this tradition and hopes to continue it into the future.
