Recap: Beertasting - July 2007

On Friday, July 20, 2007, about a dozen alumni got together at the famous Brickskeller Down Home Saloon just off of Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. With over 1,000 different beers available, this has been a favorite haunt of the Gamma Beta chapter for years.
Although it was primarily a social event, it provided an opportunity to have a short informal meeting to discuss upcoming activities with the Alumni Club and our interaction with local students. The three big items that we discussed were giving the status of the on-going efforts to establish a colony at the University of Maryland, coordination of the alumni club with the Gamma Beta chapter for Founder's Day in October 2007 and beginning preparations for the celebration for the 20th anniversary of the re-founding of the Gamma Beta chapter, which will occur on September 23, 2009.
But, as I said...it was mainly it was a good chance to socialize and touch base with local (and some distant) alumni. Of course, the one problem with having an event at a bar, is that by the time you remember to get a photo to document the fun...you might not get the photo you wanted. Well...this'll have to do. :-)
